Forest Ambassadors
The Forest Ambassadors Program helps create a safe, welcoming, and informed experience for visitors to the Bankhead and Talladega National Forests, especially at popular trailheads and high-use recreation areas. Forest Ambassadors serve as friendly, knowledgeable points of contact—sharing maps, answering questions, and offering guidance to help visitors enjoy these public lands responsibly.
Legacy Trails
The Legacy Trails Volunteer Program is Wild Alabama’s hands-on stewardship program dedicated to maintaining and improving trails across Alabama’s public lands. Through organized workdays, volunteers help protect natural resources, strengthen trail sustainability, and ensure safe, enjoyable access for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
