The Conservation Through Art (CTA) initiative promotes awareness and inspires protection of our public places through public art exhibits, art and creative writing workshops, hikes, creative projects, readings and public talks.

Wild Alabama’s Interpretive & Stewardship Hikes offer a meaningful way to experience Alabama’s wild places while learning from those who know them best. These guided outings combine exploration with education—sharing natural and cultural history, highlighting local biodiversity, and encouraging responsible recreation and stewardship along the way.

Forest Therapy—known in Japan as Shinrin-yoku (literally “forest air bathing”)—is a gentle, guided practice of slowing down and connecting with the natural world through the senses. Forest Therapy invites participants into a deeper awareness of being—in the forest, within oneself, and in shared community.

Wild Alabama’s Campfire Conversations offer engaging ways to learn about Alabama’s wild places—from our forests and waterways to the incredible biodiversity they support. Through live and virtual workshops, presentations, and interactive learning experiences, participants can discover new ways to enjoy the outdoors, deepen their understanding of why it matters, and gain practical tools to value and protect the public lands we all share.
