About The Event
Join fellow Volunteer Wilderness Rangers for a patrol in the Sipsey Wilderness and help preserve this beautiful natural area. Patrol duties include cleaning fire rings, collecting trash, clearing trail obstructions, and documenting areas that need attention. We also learn how to connect with wilderness visitors, provide guidance on the Leave No Trace principles, and share the area's history. These activities help maintain the wilderness for future generations while protecting its ecological integrity.
If you are not a current ranger, you will shadow Lindsay Madison and/or other rangers to gain hands-on experience and learn about wilderness stewardship.
Meet at the Sipsey Trailhead at 8:45 a.m. Please wear your Ranger uniform if you have it. If you are not yet a ranger and would like to learn more about the program, please join us!
Bring a backpack with water and a lunch for the day. Please wear long pants and hiking boots. No…
