Since 2009, every year a premier volunteer is chosen. The title is granted to a volunteer as a recognition of the volunteer's giving and selfless nature. Premier volunteers contribute more than just hours—they contribute skills, creative energy, and sound leadership. We recognize a new individual every year at our annual volunteer appreciation picnic in November. Each premier volunteer is given a handcrafted sourwood walking stick, .
