Enjoy. Value. Protect.
Wild Alabama works to protect, promote, and educate about Alabama’s National Forests and The Wilderness areas within them, Sipsey, Cheaha, and Dugger Mountain.
We are Protecting Forests for Life!
Every year since 2009, Wild South now Wild Alabama has chosen a premier volunteer. We recognize this individual at our annual volunteer appreciation picnic in November. They are also given a handcrafted sourwood walking stick crafted by Mark Kolinski, former Programs Manager for Wild South. It's not just how much time a volunteer has spent with us but it is the quality of their giving and selfless nature. These volunteers contribute more than just hours, but also skills and creative energy and sound leadership as well. Click on each photo to learn more about these inspiring individuals.
