Do you love the Pinhoti Trail and want to keep it great? Then this is the program for you! The goal of the Pinhoti Ridgerunner program is to extend the reach of the Wild Alabama in the Talladega National Forest (TNF) and to ensure a consistent level of maintenance to Forest Service standards. Each section of the Pinhoti Trail within the TNF will be assigned a dedicated volunteer Ridgerunner similar to the model employed across sections of the Appalachian Trail. The Ridgerunner is responsible for regular patrols of their allocated section of trail, condition reporting, routine light maintenance, trash collection, and campfire rehabbing.
