​The following is a selection of areas in the Bankhead and Talladega National Forests that may be suitable for a variety of physical needs. If you have suggestions to add to our list, please email [email protected].

• Brushy Lake Recreation Area | Danville, AL
  • A paved trail around the north and west sides of the lake. About a mile roundtrip. Features a fishing pier that is great for watching birds.

• Bald Rock Boardwalk Trail at Cheaha State Park | Delta, AL
  • An ADA compliant trail with scenic views and several benches along the way. About 1/2 mile roundtrip.

• Choccolocco Park | Oxford, AL
  • 2.7 miles in total of multi-use, paved trails. Take a visit to the interpretive trail to learn the local history of the Muscogee Creek Nation, or enjoy some time at the lake.

• Flagg Mountain | Sylacauga, AL
  • Features an ADA compliant trail leading from the parking lot to the fire tower. The parking lot is gravel, but there are designated spaces for handicap parking.
