A lifelong educator and resident of the Double Springs area, Heather brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to fostering meaningful educational experiences. Heather's career in education spans several key roles, including classroom teacher, media technology specialist, and principal of Double Springs Elementary School. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bankhead National Forest, Heather has developed a deep appreciation for the environment. Her move into a leadership position at Wild Alabama allows her to engage with the vital work of public lands protection, merging her passion for education with her commitment to preserving natural spaces. When Heather is not at work on forest protection, she may well be traveling the country with her husband and twin teenagers, exploring quirky historical sites and points of interest.
